Copyright & Intellectual Property Policy.
OWNERSHIP OF CONTENT
All content made available through our platform—whether created by instructors, affiliates, or the platform administrators—must adhere to clearly defined content ownership guidelines to protect the intellectual property of all contributors and ensure lawful usage across the platform.
Instructor-Created Content:
Instructors who upload and publish courses on our platform retain full ownership of the original content they create, including but not limited to videos, written materials, quizzes, presentations, and other instructional resources. This ownership is preserved throughout their use of the platform. However, by uploading such content to our platform, instructors grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, reproduce, display, distribute, and market their course materials in digital form. This license is essential for us to make the course available to learners and promote the instructor’s work effectively.
Platform-Created or Commissioned Content:
Any content that is developed internally by our platform team or commissioned from third parties under a contract or work-for-hire agreement shall be the sole property of the platform. This includes branding materials, user interface designs, proprietary course tools, and administrative documentation. Such content cannot be reused, reproduced, or redistributed without express written permission from the platform administrators.
User-Generated Contributions:
When students or affiliates submit comments, reviews, suggestions, or other forms of input via the platform (excluding formal course materials), they retain ownership of their original expression. However, by submitting this content, they grant the platform the perpetual, irrevocable, and royalty-free right to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, and display such content in connection with improving the platform’s user experience, promotional materials, and educational content, with or without attribution.
Trademarks and Branding:
All logos, service marks, trade names, and brand elements associated with the platform are the exclusive property of the platform owner and are protected under applicable intellectual property laws. Unauthorized use of these elements is strictly prohibited. Instructors or affiliates may only use branding assets when explicitly authorized to do so, and in a manner that upholds the integrity and reputation of the platform.
Content Hosting and Distribution:
While instructors maintain ownership of their content, they understand that the platform may take necessary actions to optimize course visibility, categorize content, and distribute materials through internal and external marketing channels. Ownership rights do not extend to backend structures, technical frameworks, or analytics generated through the use of the platform’s systems.
In all cases, contributors are responsible for ensuring that the content they upload or use does not infringe on any third-party copyrights, trademarks, or intellectual property rights. The platform reserves the right to suspend, remove, or take legal action against any content that violates ownership policies or presents potential legal risks.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF INSTRUCTORS
We recognize and fully respect the intellectual property rights of instructors who contribute educational content to our platform. As the original creators, instructors retain full legal ownership and copyright over the content they develop and upload, including but not limited to video lectures, audio files, course notes, visual presentations, illustrations, handouts, infographics, worksheets, assignments, and assessments. These materials are considered the intellectual property of the instructor and are protected under the applicable copyright laws of India and international conventions.
When an instructor publishes content on our platform, they are not relinquishing their rights. Instead, they are granting us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, stream, and market that content to users for educational purposes. This license is necessary to ensure the platform can legally operate the course and present it to students in a seamless, user-friendly environment. However, this license does not transfer copyright ownership to the platform or to any third party unless explicitly agreed upon in writing.
Instructors are free to use their content elsewhere as long as it does not breach any exclusivity agreements that may be established with the platform. However, we may reserve the right to request exclusivity for certain flagship or featured content, in which case clear terms will be discussed and agreed upon separately. Instructors are advised not to upload duplicate or substantially similar versions of their course content to competing platforms if such actions violate prior agreements or dilute the value of the content on our platform.
It is the instructor’s responsibility to ensure that all content they upload is original or properly licensed. If instructors use third-party materials (such as images, music, or text excerpts), they must ensure they have obtained all necessary permissions, licenses, or citations. The platform does not assume liability for copyright infringement resulting from unauthorized use of external content by instructors.
Additionally, instructors have the right to request takedowns or initiate copyright protection measures if they discover that their content has been misused, copied, or reproduced without their consent either within or outside the platform. We support and cooperate with all legitimate claims related to intellectual property rights and offer mechanisms for reporting infringement, which are addressed in detail in later sections.
The integrity of intellectual property is critical to sustaining trust, professionalism, and creativity within the educational ecosystem. As such, we commit to honoring instructor ownership and protecting their rights, while instructors must also commit to ethical content creation and responsible sharing.
PROHIBITED USE OF PLATFORM CONTENT
All content made available on our platform—whether created by instructors, affiliates, administrators, or the platform itself—is protected under applicable copyright, intellectual property, and trademark laws. Users, visitors, instructors, or any third parties are strictly prohibited from using this content in ways that infringe upon the rights of the content owners or violate the platform’s usage guidelines.
Under no circumstances may users download, reproduce, redistribute, republish, copy, store, transmit, sell, sublicense, modify, or create derivative works from platform content—whether in part or in whole—without the explicit, prior written permission of the original content owner or the platform (if the platform holds distribution rights). This applies to both free and paid content, including videos, written materials, assessments, design elements, course outlines, platform layout, logos, trademarks, and branding assets.
Use of automated tools, screen recording, scraping bots, or any form of software or manual extraction techniques to duplicate or capture the content for external use is strictly forbidden. This includes uploading platform content to video-sharing platforms, forums, blogs, torrents, or file-sharing services—even if done without commercial intent. Sharing course materials with non-registered users or transferring access to another person also constitutes a violation of our terms and is not permitted.
The platform prohibits the resale, licensing, gifting, or offering of content as part of third-party services or coaching packages without a formal partnership agreement. No user, instructor, or affiliate may present themselves as a representative of the platform or claim authorship of any content they did not create or legally acquire rights to. Branding elements, including our logo and trademarks, must never be used without authorization in marketing, promotional, or commercial materials.
Furthermore, content must not be used for misleading, unethical, illegal, defamatory, or harmful purposes. Misuse may include, but is not limited to, re-editing materials to spread misinformation, stripping context from instructional content, associating educational content with spam, adult content, hate speech, or promoting fraudulent claims.
We reserve the right to monitor platform usage to identify potential abuses of content. Any suspected or confirmed violation of these rules may result in immediate suspension or termination of user accounts, revocation of access to purchased or published content, and legal action where necessary.
Respect for intellectual property is a shared responsibility, and we urge all members of our community—students, instructors, affiliates, and staff—to uphold the principles of academic honesty, copyright compliance, and fair use.
REPORTING INFRINGEMENTS
We take intellectual property rights very seriously and are committed to protecting the original work of creators, instructors, and content providers on our platform. If you believe that your copyrighted content or intellectual property has been used on our platform in a way that constitutes infringement, we encourage you to report the issue promptly through our official reporting process.
Anyone—whether a registered user, instructor, or third party—can submit an infringement report. To ensure a swift and fair investigation, reports must include specific and verifiable information. At a minimum, your report should include:
- A detailed description of the copyrighted work or intellectual property you believe has been infringed.
- The exact URL(s) or page location(s) on our platform where the allegedly infringing content appears.
- Your full name and contact details, including a valid email address and phone number.
- A statement declaring that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on behalf of the owner.
- A good-faith belief statement affirming that the use in question is unauthorized and constitutes an infringement.
- A declaration that all the information provided is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
- Your physical or electronic signature to validate the report.
You may send your report to our designated support email address or use the dedicated copyright/report form available on our website. We recommend using our official form for faster processing and accurate documentation.
Upon receiving a valid infringement notice, we will acknowledge receipt and begin an internal review. The content in question may be temporarily hidden or suspended during the investigation. We may contact both parties involved to gather additional information or context, ensuring a fair and balanced resolution process. If the report is confirmed to be accurate, the infringing content will be removed or modified, and the offending account may be subject to penalties, including warnings, suspensions, or permanent bans, depending on the severity and recurrence of the violation.
We also respect the rights of instructors and users to defend themselves against false or mistaken infringement claims. If a user believes that content was wrongly flagged or removed, they may submit a counter-notice with supporting documentation. This process ensures transparency and safeguards against abuse of the reporting system.
False claims of infringement—especially those made in bad faith—are strictly prohibited and may result in the claimant being held legally and financially liable for damages. Misusing the reporting process is a serious violation of platform policy and may lead to the revocation of platform access or legal consequences.
Protecting intellectual property is a shared responsibility. If you see something that appears to violate copyright or intellectual rights—either your own or someone else’s—please do not hesitate to report it. Your vigilance helps maintain the quality, integrity, and legal compliance of our learning environment.
DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) Compliance
We are committed to respecting the intellectual property rights of content creators, educators, and copyright holders. In alignment with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), we have established a policy and process for handling claims of copyright infringement on our platform. This section outlines how copyright owners can notify us of suspected infringement and how we respond in accordance with applicable law.
What Is the DMCA?
The DMCA is a United States copyright law that provides a mechanism for copyright holders to request the removal of unauthorized content from websites. Although our platform operates from India, we honor DMCA procedures as part of our broader commitment to global intellectual property protection standards and our intention to expand internationally. We also recognize the seriousness of copyright infringement and implement takedown protocols to protect rights holders regardless of their jurisdiction.
Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice
If you believe that content hosted on our platform infringes your copyright, you may submit a formal DMCA takedown notice to us. Your notification must include the following legally required elements:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
- A clear description of the copyrighted work that you claim has been infringed.
- Identification of the infringing material and its location on our website (e.g., exact URL or course title).
- Your contact information, including full name, mailing address, phone number, and a valid email address.
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information provided in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the copyright owner’s behalf.
Incomplete or fraudulent claims may be rejected, and knowingly submitting false claims may result in legal liability under applicable law.
Our Response to Valid DMCA Notices
Once we receive a valid and complete DMCA takedown request, we will:
- Promptly review and assess the complaint.
- Temporarily disable access to or remove the allegedly infringing content.
- Notify the affected instructor or user of the removal and provide them with an opportunity to respond with a counter-notification, if applicable.
We reserve the right to permanently remove content and/or suspend the responsible account if we determine that the infringement is serious or repeated. We also maintain internal records of DMCA notices and may use this history to assess future violations.
Filing a Counter-Notification
If you are a user or instructor whose content was removed based on a DMCA takedown request, and you believe the removal was made in error or that you have the right to use the material in question, you may file a DMCA counter-notification. This notice must include:
- Your name, address, phone number, and email.
- A statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the court located in Tirur, Kerala, India (or your local court if outside India).
- A description of the removed content and its original location on our platform.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith that the content was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Once we receive a valid counter-notification, we may reinstate the content within 10–14 business days unless the original complainant initiates legal proceedings to prevent restoration.
Repeat Infringers
We take repeated copyright violations very seriously. Users or instructors who are found to be repeat infringers may face penalties up to and including:
- Temporary or permanent suspension of their account.
- Forfeiture of pending earnings, if applicable.
- Legal reporting, depending on the severity of the case.
We reserve the right to assess and determine what constitutes a “repeat infringer” based on multiple valid DMCA complaints.
